The Real Danger of Misguided Nationalism

Every country has its own culture, language, and values. Teaching these to children is important to many people. However, recently, some individuals have been using nationalism to push their own agendas. In Pakistan, there are efforts to promote ideologies like communism, liberalism, and sometimes atheism, which can be perceived as harmful to the essence of Islam.

In certain areas, some nationalists advocate for education in the mother tongue, such as Pashto, and for adherence to their version of Pashto culture. They use nationalism to push ideas like secularism and communism. Similar patterns are seen with Baloch nationalists.

What is a True Nationalist?

So, who is a true nationalist? A true nationalist should care about their fellow countrymen. Unfortunately, some of our nationalists view Russians as friends while considering fellow Pashtuns with differing opinions as enemies. This kind of nationalism is very harmful.

Understanding "Comrade"

For those unfamiliar with the term, here’s what "Comrade" means:

✍️ Comrades are people who believe in communism and do not accept Islam as a complete way of life. They use nationalism to disguise their true goals. In Pakhtunkhwa, they use Pashtun nationalism; in Balochistan, they use Baloch nationalism. In Sindh, they talk about Muhajir and Sindhi nationalism. Each of these movements is part of the same plan, just with different names.

The Hidden Agenda in Pakistan

In Pakistan, these individuals do not want the country to be based on Islamic values. They aim to fracture the unity of the country by using nationalism to create separate groups. This is the strategy of true communists and liberals in Pakistan.

Final words

We need to recognize and challenge these false forms of nationalism. True nationalism should bring people together, not divide them. It should respect different ideas and cultures within the country. By staying alert and informed, we can protect our nation and ensure a united, inclusive future for everyone.

The following pictures are of Samar Haroon Bilour taken in London. SHe comes from a purely nationalist family in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), but the unfortunate reality is that she seems to have forgotten the culture that he and his family advocate for.
